Description

Foot controls were popular in the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s. Early versions advanced the tuner to the next preset station when stepped on. When signal-seeking radios were invented in 1947, they would advance to the next station with sufficient signal strength (like a Wonderbar). This allowed the driver to change stations without taking his hands off the wheel or his eyes off the road. Even in those days, there was a concern about distracted drivers.

Foot controls were factory options for most U.S. car makers, and radios supplied by Bendix, Delco, Motorola, Philco, and Zenith all offered foot control options on at least some of their radios.

Our foot controls are made from .024″ Galvaneal with a black powder coat finish for high rust resistance. They plug into a jack on the back of every radio we made, beginning with the serial numbers B103 0427, B106 662, or B106 0830, and every radio built after January 1, 2019.

The foot control makes every radio a signal seeker!
